Bramley Grange Primary school is a caring and nurturing school where children are at the heart of everything. We aim to ensure all our learners make the best possible progress and achieve highly through high-quality teaching and learning as well as an exciting, stimulating curriculum.

The school has approximately forty-five children in each cohort from nursery to year six and we have eleven classes:

  • 3 in EYFS – working as a foundation unit
  • 3 in KS1 – a year one class and two mixed Year one/two classes
  • 3 in Lower KS2 – year three/four mixed-age
  • 3 in Upper KS2 – year five/six mixed age

Each phase has a senior leader responsible for leading the phase and the staff work very closely together supporting each other to deliver the best they can.

Teaching assistants are integral to the staff team and provide good quality support and intervention for all learners.

The staff team are friendly and welcoming as well as supportive of each other. They work very closely together planning and assessing work, analysing progress, formulating intervention strategies to ensure children achieve well. We have close links with the schools in the local community and work together sharing good practice and improving our schools.

The school is situated on the outskirts of Rotherham close to the M18 junctions for both Sheffield and Doncaster. The school serves a mixed catchment of mainly private housing. A significant number of children reside outside our immediate catchment area, but parents choose to send them to Bramley Grange. Parents are very supportive of the school. Children are well behaved with positive attitudes to learning and respond to good teaching.

The grounds are extensive and we use them to enhance learning and play. They include two large playgrounds, a large school field, outdoor areas in KS1 and a large outdoor area in foundation stage. The school building is very modern and we are constantly seeking to improve the learning environment to ensure it is welcoming and conducive to promoting high-quality learning. Classrooms are generously sized and well equipped with IWB’S, computers and laptops.

We pride ourselves in making learning relevant and fun for our children, following our children’s interests through a themed approach. We embrace creativity and skills for life drive our curriculum. Our achievements are improving and progress is good across the school. Teaching and learning is good. We are well placed to move towards outstanding.

Parent’s council are enthusiastic and supportive of the school. They work with the leadership team to offer parent views and to fundraise to support the children’s learning. They organise Summer and Christmas fayres, discos and other social events.

The governing body is supportive of the school. They are committed to drive the school towards excellence and work in partnership with staff to support this.
